what this makes me wonder is: when did some nerds decide it was OK to start bullying anyone else? Girl nerd, guy nerd, gay nerd, old nerd, new nerd, über nerd, casual nerd; WHO CARES!? Just be happy that there are people out there who enjoy and can share in the things you love!
New players are always welcome at my table when my friends and I play magic. Hell, I wish there were more nerds in my little town!
Nerd guys are getting a bad rep because of douche-bags like this poster on Reddit, and as a guy I would have serious words with any idiot who acted like this towards anyone else in person, (that is, if the person they were being a douche to hadn’t already ripped them a new one!)

So some broface neckbeard decided he hates girls who are geeky — especially girls who are recently geeky — because apparently girls can’t be real geeks and blah blah blah. Thankfully, he got pretty promptly torn down, and one of the teardowns is …
I assume that the dudes who follow this blog are cool with the idea of girls as geeks, since I think it’s reasonably obvious that I have lady parts.
So I’d like to ask you guys a favor. If you see a guy acting like a douche towards a girl for not being a “real” geek, tell him about this blog. Or just make him stop in general. It would mean a lot to me.
I’ve been a comic geek since I was in diapers, I started officially collecting comic books since I was in High School and I’ve been into Marvel and DC ever since I saw their cartoons as a small child. I’ve also been into Star Wars, Star Trek, computers and video games since before I could even talk or read. I am a noob at Dungeons and Dragons but I love that game so much I want to play it with everyone.
I am no better than the people who just got into something that I’ve been into my whole life and no worse than people who have been loving something I just discovered.
And fuck anyone who thinks me or any other women can’t be geeks just because we have girly bits.
